We are currently seeking an Intermediate Fire Alarm Technician with a strong understanding of our products to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview: The Intermediate Fire Alarm Technician will ensure proper start-up, commissioning, and ongoing support for fire alarm systems, including product training, quality assurance, and collaboration with Project Managers, Engineers, and Electricians.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) program with valid license.
  • Post-secondary education in Electronics, Engineering, Fire Protection, or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of various fire alarm products and their functionalities.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, assist with design/estimation, and implement projects.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a history of diagnosing and resolving system issues efficiently.
  • Valid and clean G driver’s license required.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, particularly CAN/ULC-S524, S536 & S537.
  • Background in fire alarm, building engineering, electrical, electronic would be an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
  • Project Commissioning - Perform equipment startup, program, download application software, and calibrate software/hardware for proper system operation.
  • Product Training - Provide training in technology, products, and procedures to customers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance - Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure product integrity and adherence to standards.
  • System Testing - Perform on-site testing, point-to-point checkout, and validate the operation. Perform verifications on new fire alarm installations as per CAN/ULC-S537.
  • Documentation - Maintain working as-built project drawings/documentation, archive project user files, and execute warranty-related service calls.
  • Coordination - Collaborate with estimators and installation electricians to ensure projects are completed on time and per code, standards, and contract requirements.
  • On-Call Service - Provide on-call service and scheduled service work on fire alarm systems. Provide technical support to our industry partners.
  • Sales Opportunities - Identify and assess potential sales opportunities for fire alarm system replacements or upgrades during client site visits.
