Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As an Intermediate GIS Developer, you’ll independently develop, implement and maintain GIS applications and databases that support our client’s spatial data needs. You’ll collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders to analyze requirements, design solutions, and provide technical support for GIS-related projects.

Key competencies include:

  • Your ability to code an application from start to finish
  • Performing code reviews
  • Effectively conveying technical and non-technical information to stakeholders
  • Readily identifying and troubleshooting common issues.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO AS AN INTERMEDIATE GIS DEVELOPER

  • Develop and maintain GIS applications, tools, and databases to meet organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and others to gather and analyze spatial data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Design and implement GIS solutions using industry-standard software and programming languages.
  • Conduct spatial analysis and modeling to derive insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and security within GIS databases.
  • Provide technical support and training to users on GIS applications and tools.
  • Contribute to the development of elegant designs that meet the business needs of our clients.
  • Proactively suggest ideas to improve proposed solutions.
  • Actively participate in application design, database design, schema layout and ETL processes.
  • Troubleshoot and correct complex bugs or issues (including performance issues).
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests.
