Bluestar Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM company specializing in oil and gas and renewables projects. We are a group of professionals who form a fully integrated multi-disciplinary organization backed by many years of experience.
We are seeking someone eager to continue their career with our fast-paced, growing company and looking to fill the role of Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Technologist.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Instrumentation Technology diploma is required.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience within an EPCM setting.
  • Registration with ASET or APEGA is required.
  • Experience using SmartPlant would be considered an asset.
  • Personable and able to work with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Ability to adjust to change and multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Create instrument data sheets and instrument indexes.
  • Provide instrument sizing and installation requirements in collaboration with other disciplines (mechanical, process).
  • Create material requisition packages.
  • Review vendor packages and documentation.
  • Develop and review P&ID’s, process narratives, and shut down keys.
  • Participation in HAZOP as required.
  • Make recommendations for the best and most economical instrument/control system based on the clients need, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Provide cost estimates for projects in conjunction with other disciplines.
  • Participate in client meetings to assess project needs.
  • Act as a point of contact for other disciplines with respect to anything instrumentation related.
