Verduyn Tarps. is searching for an Intermediate Mechanical Designer.
We are a leader in the Transportation Industry, specializing in tarp systems, cargo control equipment and trailer repair.

Primary responsibilities will be to design and detail OEM components for tarp systems, cargo control equipment

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Design of customized mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Generate parametric models, assemblies, detail drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks 2022.
  • Communicate with the company ERP using SolidWorks PDM & CAD Link
  • Participate in troubleshooting design, manufacturing, sales, and quality challenges
  • Create and maintain quality control and manufacturing documentation
  • Develop installation instructions and parts lists using SolidWorks Composer
  • Make, maintain, and review engineering changes
  • Contribute to the Engineering departments document maintenance and organization

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years related experience in mechanical design
  • Proficiency in parametric modeling and creating detail drawings
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D software
  • Previous experience working in a design/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate and follow complex instructions
  • Ability to provide imaginative and innovative thinking
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to travel occasionally
