The Payment product owner role is an integral part of moving our aspirations into reality, working with the product team and our delivery teams to make our vision real. A product owner’s ability to plan, explain, analyse and put things into action is vital to our success. This is 6 months fixed term parental leave cover Here is what you can expect from this role: Curate the present to 3 month product roadmap for the Ping product and ensure that work aligns and drives our longer term roadmap goals forward Empower high performance from the Pinguin squads by ensuring they have full context to the reason behind their work along with the benefits seen from their output Contribute throughout the product delivery life cycle, ensure that squads understand the intent, scope and business value of the work they are doing and how it contributes to our strategy Identify and actively manage dependencies, engaging with others to understand and agree impacts and trade-offs up front Own the squad’s backlog and be accountable for it content and sequencing, ensuring work is appropriately prioritised to release rapid, incremental value to our customers and business Work with the Pinguin squad and their stakeholders to create quality user stories Complete in depth analysis of upcoming work, understanding potential solutions and outcomes in order to translate it into user stories and drive change management requirements Monitor, measure and evaluate success of changes made to products and take any required actions based on this data Ensure squad work is aligned to strategy and be able to pivot should the market or strategic objectives change Build an understanding of our customers’ experience using our services day to day and bring the voice of the customer to decisions Be a champion for our Payments products - Ping and Paystation - being able to explain and show the value of them to our customers and the wider Trade Me team Support the Product team to monitor, measure and evaluate the success of changes made to products and evidence the value of changes delivered to the business Build and maintain strong relationships with our internal stakeholders and external partners Keep all interested parties in loop - sponsors, stakeholders and customers - helping to align expectations about upcoming changes and to ensure good governance and support Support squads to resolve roadblocks and issues by engaging with sponsors and senior leadership as needed Support squads to follow agile principles and practises and use data to drive continuous improvement Work with the squad to ensure rituals are carried out and agile tools are adopted to help the team succeed What you will bring to our team: A high achiever with 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner, or similar roles such as Business Analyst Hands-on experience experimenting with AI tools, and a natural curiosity to weave them into your everyday work. Experienced in working in an agile development environment with a good understanding of agile practices and ways of working A proven track record of successfully developing flexible value driven product roadmaps to clarify where we are going, taking ownership of outcomes, define opportunities and delivering measurable results Demonstrable experience of managing a wide variety of business relationships including stakeholder and external partners Experienced using outcome based metrics to measure the impact of change A great team player and collaborator, able to form strong relationships and get the best out of people, naturally curious with an inclination to try new things An outstanding communicator - able to explain ideas simply & clearly, listen carefully to others, and proactively improve team communication. Confident in communicating to stakeholders, customers and consumers Highly organised, with great planning and facilitation skills Energy, drive and enthusiasm for excellent results and a genuine desire to help engage and motivate other team/squad members Analytical and a good problem solver - able to work through ambiguity, break down problems into actionable next steps, spot patterns in data and convert this into recommendations Confident using collaborative tools to clarify work scope, sizing, trade offs, dependencies and other planning considerations You'll have the best time working at Trade Me, and this is why: #AI and Tech: We live and breathe AI in our daily tasks. Responsibilities
The Product Owner will curate and manage the product roadmap and backlog for the Ping and Paystation squads to deliver incremental value. They will also act as a bridge between stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals and facilitate effective agile rituals.
