The Role
We are seeking an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical, Process, and Piping (MPP) team. In this role, you will lead engineering efforts across a wide variety of industrial, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects. You’ll collaborate with a multi-disciplined team to design dependable solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as project Discipline Lead – define scope, manage schedules and budgets, and coordinate cross-discipline project teams.
· Develop detailed mechanical equipment specifications and support equipment selection and vendor drawing reviews.
· Lead the design, specification, and layout of piping systems for new and existing facilities in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
· Understanding of pipe stress analysis and corrective measures requirements.
· Review and approve piping material specifications and component selections.
· Oversee the development of isometric and orthographic drawings, ensuring quality and consistency.
· Conduct 3D model reviews.
· Participate in site visits for data collection, constructability reviews, and field engineering support.
· Support field work including investigations, construction supervision, and commissioning.
· Provide technical guidance, mentorship and design oversight to junior team members.
· Participate in internal standards development and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:
· Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
· Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with APEGNB.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
· 8+ years in an industrial consulting or design environment.
· Strong project coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
· Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
· Able to work independently and as a leader within a multidisciplinary team.
· Previous experience in Pulp & Paper and industrial piping is an asset.
· Valid driver’s license for site visits.
