Position Description
The Intermediate Professional Engineer of APEGA will provide engineering discipline lead support and design services for the Civil and Structural components of projects assigned within HOCS Projects. Most assignments will involve discipline scope for small to medium-sized brownfield oil and gas facility projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small discipline team with guidance from senior leadership
  • Engineering of structural, foundation, and minor site preparation work across all project phases.
  • Prepare construction work packages, DBM, and FEED reports
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure effective project execution
  • Generate material takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Ensure technical deliverables meet client, company, and industry standards
  • Deliver engineering scope within defined schedule, budget, and man-hour targets
  • Review and maintain the technical quality of discipline outputs
  • Mentor junior staff and support professional development
  • Travel to remote project sites and comply with client safety requirements

Qualifications

  • Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or another Canadian province.
  • Experience in the chemical and petroleum industry or equivalent.
  • Solid knowledge of civil/structural design, industry codes, standards, and construction methods.
  • Proficient with engineering analysis software, 2D/3D CAD tools and MS Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective with both peers and clients.
  • Excellent organization and time management; able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Sound judgment with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
