Be our next Intermediate Structural Engineer !
EXP is currently looking for a Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Central Canada Buildings group. This position will be based out of our Ottawa office, but the Engineer will be working directly with our Structural team from our Markham office. There will be an opportunity for Hybrid working arrangements with time split between home and office. While there is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects the primary focus of this position is assist our design team on structural design for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional project.

WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE LOOKS LIKE

• Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized university
• P. Eng. Licence
• Preferably 5 to 10 years’ experience in structural engineering with a focus on structural analysis and design.
• Experience with NBCC, CSA standards
• Field experience on construction sites, conducting general reviews for compliance with drawings and specifications, and writing site reports
• Experience with Etabs, SAFE, SAP and other similar Structural design software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Team player with the proven ability to work independently with minimum direction
• Hard worker, who is eager and willing to assume responsibility
• Commitment and dedication to client service as well as technical excellence
• Demonstrated and effective communication skills and the ability to handle changing needs while working effectively with diverse groups
• Strategic thinker with the ability to determine what work is required and draw rational conclusions from all available information
• Valid driver’s license is an asset
