ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Public Sector client is seeking two experienced Intermediate Technical Writers provide the services of a subject matter expert (SME), supporting the development of documents for LISRM.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and document statements of requirements for considered alternatives
  • Perform business analyses of functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows
  • Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document items such as database content, structure, application subsystems
  • Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems
  • Establish acceptance test criteria with client
  • Support and use the selected departmental methodologies
  • Development of technical documents specific to the LISRM project to enable industry engagement and progression of the project through project governance gateways. These include but not limited to; Request for Information, Request for Proposals, Project Governance documents in accordance with the Project Approval Document (PAD), Defence Procurement Strategy Reports

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Minimum of twelve (12) months combined experience within the last one-hundred and twenty (120) months, with at least six (6) months of that combined experience having occurred in the last forty-eight (48) months of the following in support of major projects
  • A post-secondary education (College/CEGEP diploma or University degree) from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution or the equivalent as established by a recognized Canadian academic credentials assessment service, if obtained outside of Canada, in one of the following areas:
  • Technical Communication
  • Technical Writing
  • Engineering
  • Communications
  • Sciences
  • Attained Operationally Functional Point (OFP) in a Military occupation. Should the bidder have obtained other Rank Qualifications (RQ) beyond OFP, this should be shown as well.
  • Demonstrate that the proposed resource has experience within the last ninety-six (96) months with the Microsoft Office Suite 2013 or later (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Advanced English Communication
  • Current Secret (Level II) clearance required

About the Job

  • Duration: 1 year from contract award (220 days), with an option to extend for an additional year.
  • Location: On-site at one of several facilities in the National Capital Region
