As part of AtkinsRéalis’ Engineering Services group, the municipal infrastructure team specializes in providing a full range engineering services for infrastructure projects to local, national, and international clients. The municipal infrastructure team is looking for an Intermediate Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team to work on one the most important Canadian airport projects. This role will be based in Toronto, Ontario. Occasional travel within Canada may be required. Your role Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analysis, including flood mapping, water balance analysis, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and LID Design. Develop engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, specifications, bid documents, engineering directives, and other data, according to client specifications for municipal road and highway infrastructure projects. Performs basic calculations to analyze and design water resources system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software (e.g., Visual OTTHYMO, PCSWMM, GIS, Culvert Master, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY8, CulvertMaster, AutoCAD etc.). Working knowledge of using different design criteria manuals from Cities, MTO, MOE, and Conservation Authorities. Design and prepare profiles, cross sections, and storm drainage systems. Prepare reports, calculations, technical memos, and meeting minutes. Support project management, proposal writing and business development and client base support. Coordinate with other disciplines. About you Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (Water Resources) from a recognized institution, master’s degree is an asset. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng). Minimum of 5 years of Water Resources Engineering experience and working knowledge of current design software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and project engineering in municipal roads and/or highways including preliminary and detailed design, specifications, and contract documents. Ability to work on multiple projects and meet established deadlines. Demonstrated problem solving ability. Effective interpersonal skills, a strong client-service focus, and the ability to work in a team environment are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
