We are accepting applications for a Natural Resources Technician 1 - Appalachian Hills Visitor Center (2 positions available - Morgan County), within the Division of Wildlife, within the state of Ohio. What you will do… Support the planning and implementation of education and interpretive programs. Provide assistance with the care and maintenance of bison and/or other on-site livestock, including feeding, watering, fence inspections and repairs, and animal health reporting. Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of on-site aquaria to ensure proper animal health and conditions. Perform general facility maintenance duties, including cleaning, landscaping, mowing, and other assigned tasks. Interact with the public to promote a safe, welcoming environment and deliver educational and interpretive visitor experiences. Answers inquiries from the public & distributes general information. Duration… Year-round, intermittent seasonal Work Hours… 20-40 Hours/Week (Typically 8 hour days but may include some long days, up to 12 hours) May include unusual working hours (e.g., weekends and/or holidays, early mornings and/or late evenings) Applicants will be expected to work in inclement weather conditions and unusual working conditions such as cold and hot weather as well as rough, uneven, or wet terrain. Applicants may be exposed to dirt, dust, fumes and noise; may be exposed to chemicals; may work in, on or near water; may be exposed to outdoor elements (e.g., animals, insects, poison ivy, and poison sumac).
