As a Intern - Automation Engineer, you will be exposed labor efficiency improvement programs in assigned cluster of processes through automation solutions.
The Automation Team collaborate closely with respective process, equipment and new product owners to identify improvement opportunities, then design and implement solutions through external benchmarking and close partnership with automation vendor. In this role, we are encouraged to lead in all stages of automation solution from idea generation, design, deployment to production release. In addition, through our knowledge and expertise, we will feedback automation design rules to new product introduction team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Pursuing Bachelors/master’s in mechanical/electrical/Robotics or other Automation related field.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Responsibilities

Coordinate and collaborate with Site Manufacturing and Engineering team to identify gap and improvement opportunities.

  • Analyze process flow, product movement, equipment layout, operator assignment to identify labor efficiency wastes
  • Prepare and setup brainstorming sessions multi-functional teams to generate ideas for improvement opportunities
  • Evaluate improvement ideas based on return on investment, quality and safety/ergonomics improvement
  • Propose improvement ideas to management for approval

Design automation solutions through external benchmarking and partnership with automation vendors

  • Performs research and survey on industrial best automation practices
  • Select supplier to execute improvement ideas using decision making analysis tool
  • Partner supplier to design solutions to meet improvement objectives
  • Plan overall project within scope, budget and timeline.

Lead implementation of automation solutions until production release

  • Acts as key interface to automation vendor throughout project management lifecycle
  • Continue to collaborate with key partners such as process and equipment owners, manufacturing to ensure improvement objectives are met
  • Setup regular meeting with multi-functional team to ensure successful production ramp.
