Description DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Grant and Financial Services Department is responsible for the administration, financial, and technical support for fiscally sponsored projects (projects). Projects are community organizations who work under the umbrella of Community Partners for fully financial and administrative support. This division is responsible for developing and preparing budget projections and recommendations; monitoring and approving expenditures and subcontracts; assisting projects in making decisions related to various funds to ensure compliance; monitoring and enforcing funder compliance standards and regulations; and developing various analytic reports to track and monitor performance. POSITION SUMMARY The Internships is an external facing position and will interact with fiscally sponsored projects. The student worker will receive direct job-specific supervision from the assigned Senior Grant and Finance Administrator (GFA) and general supervision from the AVP. The position will support GFAs with monitoring project’s financials, preparing financial reports, providing customer services, and budgeting. Overall support will include administrative tasks such as note taking, filing documents, designing and entering data into spreadsheets and databases, and preparing written communication. This position will also assist GFAs with grant management functions such as grant application writing and submissions, grant and contract budget development, grants and revenue contracts execution and system set-up, cost and expenditure approval and monitoring, funder reporting creation and analysis. Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES · Working knowledge of nonprofits financials and/or public administration · Advance Microsoft Office suite knowledge, special emphasis on Microsoft Excel · Ability to prepare and analyze budget and financial reports · Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, be highly attentive to detail, and be able to multitask · Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain a high degree of confidentiality · Experience in client service and communicating with diverse populations PHYSICAL Position is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, frequently required to walk and stand. The employee must also use his/her hands to operate and feel office equipment and reach with hands and arms. Position may occasionally climb, stoop, kneel or bend.
