INTERN (D/F/M) SIMULATION AND SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT IN THE FIELD OF SPACE TECHNOLOGY AND MISSILE DEFENCE

Future satellite missions are currently being investigated which use optical measurements for a real-time trajectory estimation of space objects. Possible applications are the observation of launchers and re-entry vehicles.
An initial simulation environment for performance engineering of such a satellite-based observation mission is already established and subject to ongoing extensions. The goal of this work will be supporting the software development of particular modules, such as a GUI as well as subroutines for track handling and multi-target tracking.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fulltime enrolled student (d/f/m) within (software) engineering, computer science, physics or comparable.
  • Good knowledge in numerical methods and data filtering algorithms.
  • Good knowledge in coding in Java (FXML) or similar GUI frameworks.
  • Experience in coding in Fortran 95+.
  • Fluent English and/or German.
  • You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.

  • Assist in software development of adapting subroutines for GUI and multi-target tracking.
