Starting hourly rate range : $24.50 - 27.75 Per hour Please note that hourly rates for this position are based on type of degree and expected date of graduation. Intern, Drone Technology (Engineering) This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026. Job Summary The Intern, Drone Technology is responsible for supporting the data analysis, asset maintenance, and operations of numerous technology initiatives that improve safety and efficiency of the railroad. The position ensures new technology functionality, data integrity, and infield implementation of new inspection systems and platforms. The role collaborates with Advanced Technology Engineering to validate data and establish processes and best practices for technology development, operations, and maintenance. Major Responsibilities Review, analyze, and validate data from multiple platform technologies to assess system performance and track conditions, focusing on analyzing new data sets to determine data quality and operational capabilities Coordinate and perform on-track data validation activities Support field personnel technology adoption Assist with planning schedules and tracking productivity of equipment Contribute to joint bar analysis and reporting Collaborate with Advanced Technology Engineering to create test and analysis plans and validate new technologies via data analysis, system design and implementation, planning, and review Assist with the operational implementation and maintenance efforts Contribute to operations and maintenance process establishment and improvement Collaborate with Engineering field personnel Support efforts to cooperate with equipment and technology suppliers to track the reliability as well as accuracy of technology for continued improvement Assist in developing user-friendly reports and easy-to-access information engineering Requirements Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Knowledge of Project Management best practices The role requires occasional travel (25%) and may be required to work weekends The incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress The role requires working in a combination of office and outdoor environments in various types of weather conditions Education Working toward a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence *Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset About CN CN is a premium railroad that sustainably generates value for our customers, shareholders, employees, and stakeholders with an unwavering commitment to safety and service.
