The Engineering Intern works with department personnel and is responsible for assisting in the following under the guidance of full-time Engineering staff: development and implementation of clear, complete, and accurate detailed drawings/sketch details from rough sketches or notes, reviewing design documents for accuracy, completeness, and constructability, creating bills of material (BOM), and meeting job design budgets and deadlines Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed. Modify product designs, according to guidelines provided. Develop detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment, according to guidelines provided. Create 3-D models from 2-D drawings. Generate and scan prints. Complete other projects or tasks as assigned. Attend meetings & coordinate with Field & Shop personnel for design issues Coordinate with other internal departments Process A BOMs (Advanced Bills of Materials and BOMs (Bills of Materials), etc. Other tasks/functions/projects as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Currently enrolled in college and working towards a degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) Hands-on experience with mechanical devices, machines, tools, construction, etc. preferred Any machine shop experience or manufacturing experience is preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD & Inventor preferred) and Microsoft Office applications. Competent with mathematics and investigation of engineering topics related to work tasks. Strong Attention to detail. Ability to work effectively, both independently and on a team. Strong problem-solving & critical thinking skills. Personal commitment to safety. Preferred experience in CAD (2D and/or 3D) AutoCad/Inventor a plus. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Basic knowledge in Adobe Acrobat.
