Intern, Engineering - Track Canada (Prairies) This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026. Job Summary The Intern, Engineering Track – Canada (Prairies) is responsible for participating in the development of a Capital Plan for the region that allocates funding. The role participates in planning infrastructure investments and improving safety at CN. Major Responsibilities Assist the Chief Engineering Eastern Region and the Manager Track Quality build multi-year Capital Plans Collect and consolidate multiple track conditions Repair history data from various sources Develop templates for prioritizing Rail, Tie, and Surfacing programs Learn the basics of track structure and critical parameters related to its quality and degradation Assist the Chief Engineering Eastern Region and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in preparing business cases concerning Special Capital for similar programs Requirements Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Applies critical thinking Communicates with impact Identifies potential safety and security risks Collaborates with others and shares information Education Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 2 years completed Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence About CN CN is a premium railroad that sustainably generates value for our customers, shareholders, employees, and stakeholders with an unwavering commitment to safety and service.
