Interns must be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant working experience. In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who: a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities; b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations and/or for whom internship is required to complete their studies; or c) are sponsored by governmental/non governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor. d) are either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months. e) are between 20 and 36 years of age. BACKGROUND INFORMATION Within the Department of Mobility Pathways and Inclusion (DMPI), the Migration Health Division (MHD), has the institutional responsibility to oversee, support and coordinate IOM’s provision of migration health services globally. As a key component of this since the Organization’s inception, the Health Assessment Programme (HAP) has delivered an array of medical services along regular pathways at the request of destination country governments. These services include a range of procedures such as screening, diagnostics, treatment, preventive measures, and health-related travel assistance, and are offered to migrants to facilitate resettlement, international employment, education, acquisition of temporary or permanent visas, participation in specific migrant assistance programmes, or during post-emergency relocation and repatriation efforts. SUPERVISION Under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator (Global Health Assessment) and direct supervision of the Migration Health Officer (Education and Communication), the Intern – Health Assessment Programmes will assist in HAP Programme work in collaboration with other colleagues in IOM Headquarters and the Manila Global Shared Services Centre.
