Description

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.
The Intern, Human Resources Consulting will provide project and day-to-day operational support for the HR Business Partnering team. This role will report into the Director, Human Resources Consulting Services.

Responsibilities
  • Provides support in functional areas of Human Resources, which may include coordination of tasks, operations under supervision, and optimizing current practices.
  • Assists in the collection of internal and external information for reports and statistical research, a key element being the onboarding process and set up.
  • Preparing and editing correspondence, reports, and presentations.
  • Processes paperwork for functional area according to established procedures.
  • Work directly with key personnel to understand project concept, objectives, and approach.
  • Support and deliver a variety of HR tasks and projects.
  • May suggest and assist with the implementation of process improvements and standard methodologies in order to achieve departmental efficiencies and improve service.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as required.
