The Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities. Interns must be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant working experience.    In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who:   a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities; b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations and/or for whom internship is required to complete their studies; or c) are sponsored by governmental/non governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor. d) are either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months. e) are between 20 and 36 years of age.   Background Information   The Data & Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance unit helps the organisation use data and artificial intelligence responsibly, securely, and for good. It is responsible for shaping the policies, tools, and practices that ensure data is accurate, protected, and used ethically across all our missions. The team works at the intersection of technology, governance, and humanitarian impact, guiding how information and AI are applied to make better decisions, protect people’s privacy, and build trust in innovation. As these are emerging disciplines, the opportunities for learning and growth can be substantial.  Being part of this team, the Interns gain hands-on experience in real-world Data Governance and the ethical use of AI; contributing to projects that balance innovation with accountability. Supervision Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Director DICT and direct supervision of the ICT Officer (Business Relations and Data & AI Governance), the Intern - Information and Communication Technology (ICT) (Data and Governance) - WCA will assist with the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in the global rollout of the Healthy Data Scorecard initiative, focusing on building and maintaining the organization's data inventory. This includes creating a clear view of data ownership, location, and sensitivity across the organization by supporting regional rollouts and mission support.
