JOB SUMMARY: Securitas is a dynamic and innovative security company dedicated to making the world a safer place. We believe in fostering talent and providing opportunities for growth. We offer students the opportunity to spend a summer working at one of Securitas’ US Operating Centers. This internship program offers undergraduate students with real-world application of business within the North America Shared Services organization. You will participate in an 11-week internship located in Charlotte, NC for 32-40 hours per week and working a hybrid schedule. As an Instructional Design Intern with Securitas Services USA, Inc., you’ll collaborate with our team and help shape the next phase of our talentED learning catalog. If you enjoy creating learning experiences, working with people, and trying new tools, this is a great opportunity to grow in a supportive team environment. Successful completion of the internship program could lead to a return internship for the following summer or employment at the organization in the future.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Support our ongoing talentED catalog review and refresh, updating existing courses and helping prepare materials for full rebuilds • Work closely with instructional designers, SMEs, contractors, and live training partners to understand how modern learning experiences come to life • Use tools like Storyline, Rise, Adobe Creative Cloud, and various AI-powered tools to revise or create course components • Shadow our LMS team to see how courses get published and evaluated in Oracle Learning Cloud (no LMS administration required) • Join our team meetings, strategy discussions, and design reviews, gaining exposure to how corporate learning operates behind the scenes   What You’ll Learn • How a full Talent Development ecosystem works—from design to operations to learner experience • How to communicate clearly with different partners and give/receive feedback effectively. • How to think through course improvements, accessibility needs, and learner‑centered design • How modern tools and AI are changing the way learning teams create content   Why This Internship Matters You won’t just be “making slides.” You’ll be part of a real transformation project, learning directly from a team that cares about the craft of learning and the people who create it. You’ll leave with meaningful experience, a better understanding of corporate L&D, and portfolio ready work.    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY  Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.    Education/Experience:  • High school diploma or GED • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in instructional design, learning design, education, communication or related field   Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):  • A clear communicator who enjoys collaborating and asking thoughtful questions • Curious, organized, and open to learning new tools and processes • Comfortable working independently but happy to be part of a supportive team • Experience in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint    Working Conditions and Physical/Mental Demands:  With or without reasonable accommodation, a candidate must have the physical and mental capacity to effectively perform all essential functions described.  In addition to other demands, the demands of the job include:  • Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations • Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey • Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information • Schedule will be hybrid, with 3 days on-site expected, or remote (depending upon location)     Securitas is committed to equal employment opportunity.
