The Lab Chemist Intern will work as part of a lab team in Trevose, PA. The primary goal is to generate a correlation between a primary analytical method for the determination of hydroxyl number by titration and a secondary method of determination by near infra-red spectroscopy (NIR). The goal is to implement a NIR method for rapid determination of hydroxyl number for a specific anti-foulant that is insoluble in almost all solvents. Location: This role is based out of the Trevose, PA laboratory Essential Responsibilities: In consultation with a WTS Researcher, execute on a program to investigate a specific customer or technology development challenge Conduct experiments to generate data Review data with WTS Researcher and design next step experiemnts Document and present results of the project at the completion of the internship Qualifications Qualifications/Requirements: Undergrad pursuing degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or equivalent with 2-3 years of college chemistry lab experience Familiarity with basic wet chemistry and analytical techniques Ability to work independently in a lab environment with other team members Self-motivated and a team player Demonstrated dedication to lab safety Effective problem-solving skills An accomplished communicator, able to produce quality technical reports and documents Additional Information ****Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity**** VWTS does not accept unsolicited resumes from external recruiting firms.
