Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for a motivated Automation Design Engineer Intern to support the design and development of automation solutions for manufacturing processes. This internship provides hands-on experience in tooling, fixture design, and workstation optimization to enhance production efficiency. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining practical knowledge in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and process improvement while contributing to real-world projects. Responsibilities: Assist in the design and development of tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing automation Support concept designs for component handling systems and workstation layouts Create 2D/3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or similar software Conduct basic tolerance studies, GD&T analysis, and simulations to verify design Support engineering projects from concept to implementation under the guidance of senior engineers Assist in project scheduling, documentation, and reporting Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of automation solutions Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of engineering components and materials Help analyze and troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and automation equipment Participate in feasibility studies for new product transfers and process enhancements Contribute to Lean Manufacturing initiatives and workspace optimization efforts Qualifications REQUIRED: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
