ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist Golf Course Superintendent, Director of Greens and Grounds and Assistant Superintendent in whatever manner necessary to achieve the standards set forth in the Golf Course Standards of Maintenance document. Provide primary support system to Assistant Superintendent on assigned course. • Consistently manage, perform duties, and carry out responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with and in support of the Club’s Mission Statement. • Assist the Assistant Superintendent with golf course personnel with regards to daily work assignments, time management, providing training in proper techniques, safety, and motivation to ensure a highly efficient and effective work force. • Ensure all services to members are conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner. • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date departmental files and records. • Learn all skills required for planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees, and other landscaping on golf course. • Involved in learning the irrigation system on a assigned golf course to the most efficient, effective operating level possible. • Maintain a current knowledge of technical and turf innovations and changes that could affect the department’s operations. • Conduct daily facility security checks to ensure that all equipment is accounted for. • Ability to interact positively with supervisor, management, coworkers, members, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach. • Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality. • Familiarize yourself with and learn, on an ongoing basis, all Club policies and procedures. • Provide administrative support as assigned by Director of Greens and Grounds, Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. • Always support safe working habits and a safe working environment. • Manages workload set forth by Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent. • Ensure all services to members are provided in a highly professional and efficient manner with strong attention to detail. • Consistently maintain the ability to come to work regularly and on time. QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule with holiday, weekday, and weekend availability. • Must be able to work independently. • Must meet legal age requirements for the position. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • Pursing Turf Management degree from four-year college or university preferred. • Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Private club, resort and/or hospitality experience preferred. • High school diploma or equal to a GED.
