Social Media Internship (Temporary Part-Time) Communications Department SUMMARY Reporting to the Social Media Manager and Coordinator, the Social Media Intern will assist in the day-to-day development and production of content for LACMA’s social channels, with a focus on short-form video. This is a hands-on, creative role for someone eager to gain experience in arts and culture digital storytelling. Candidates are highly encouraged to submit a portfolio or samples of short-form video content. This is a 25 week paid internship, approximately 29 hours per week at $17.87/hour Anticipated Start Date: January 2, 2026 RESPONSIBILITIES * Learn to monitor trends in social media (especially TikTok and Instagram) to suggest relevant formats and concepts for @lacma content * Collaborate with staff across the museum to create engaging content about exhibitions, installations, conservation, behind-the-scenes work, etc. * Assist with storyboarding, filming, and editing short-form video content for Instagram and TikTok * Stay current on LACMA events, exhibitions, David Geffen Galleries, and other institutional news * Assist with scheduling, asset organization, and cross-departmental coordination as needed QUALIFICATIONS * Internship applicants must be currently enrolled in an academic program, or recently graduated within 1 year, and reside in the Los Angeles vicinity. * Experience creating and editing short-form video content for social media preferred * Working knowledge of basic video editing software preferred (e.g., iMovie, CapCut, Premiere Rush, etc.) * Strong visual and storytelling instincts, and an interest in translating complex ideas into accessible, compelling content * High attention to detail and strong organizational skills * Basic computer skills (Google Drive, Excel, etc.) Please submit a resume and a cover letter.
