Description The Intern, Production Engineer supports ongoing design and manufacturing initiatives through hands-on project work, data analysis, and process documentation. Working alongside engineering and production teams, this role assists with tooling updates, process improvement activities, and documentation within the plant environment. This internship provides exposure to both product design and production engineering fundamentals. MAIN FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with creating and updating CAD drawings, routings, and part documentation under supervision Support time studies, process flow mapping, and production layout updates Collect and analyze production data to identify process inefficiencies or improvement opportunities Participate in cost-reduction and lean manufacturing projects Help develop and maintain standard work instructions and technical documentation Assist with prototyping and product trials on the shop floor Support ISO 9001 documentation, audits, and continuous improvement tracking Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to support daily manufacturing needs Requirements Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships acceptable) Skills: Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred); basic understanding of manufacturing processes and lean principles; strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment; willingness to work hands-on in a production setting Knowledge of agricultural or heavy industrial manufacturing a plus Ability to work effectively in a technical, customer-centric, and cross-functional setting Physical Requirements: Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, including sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
