The purpose of a Project Engineer-Trainee role is to provide a structured learning experience that prepares individuals for a successful career in engineering by combining practical experience with theoretical knowledge. To typically work closely with our experienced engineers or managers to assist them in various tasks related to project planning, design, implementation, and evaluation. They may be involved in conducting research, analyzing data, and preparing reports.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Act as an ambassador for DP World always when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies Perform other related duties as assigned

The role has to perform:

• The primary purpose is to have hands-on experience and training in engineering principles and project management methodologies. This includes learning how to plan, execute, and oversee engineering projects from start to finish..
• They are given the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge gained through academic coursework to real-world engineering projects. This helps them develop the practical skills and problem-solving abilities necessary for a successful career in engineering
• They often provide support to project teams by performing tasks such as drafting project plans, creating schedules, tracking progress, and coordinating with suppliers and clients. This allows them to gain insight into the complexities of managing multidisciplinary projects
• They may assist in ensuring that engineering projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and quality requirements. This involves conducting inspections, performing tests, and documenting results to ensure that projects meet safety and quality standards.
• They are encouraged to identify areas for improvement within existing processes and procedures and to propose innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Communication Engineering or equivalent
• Added advantage if have performed projects in the following areas
• Power electronics and Logic gates
• Power systems and Electrical engineering.
• Control systems and flow charts
• To be a team player with good communication skills, and logical thinking.
