Summary of Job Description SD3-HSD is looking for a motivated intern to support the ExCITD Initiative (Ending Complex and Challenging Infectious and Tropical Diseases), ADB's newly launched (2026) regional initiative to advance malaria elimination, close the TB diagnosis gap, and accelerate the adoption of innovative approaches for sustained dengue suppression in Asia and the Pacific. As ExCITD enters its inaugural year of implementation, the intern will contribute to advancing the initiative's start-up activities, including operational coordination, stakeholder engagement, evidence generation, TA design and implementation to strengthen ADB's position in space and support pipeline development and future ADB operations. The internship will provide hands-on exposure to regional health cooperation, technical assistance processing, and knowledge work in support of malaria elimination, TB control, dengue suppression, and vaccine-preventable diseases. The intern will Provide administrative, operational, and knowledge support to the Lead for the ExCITD Initiative in advancing ADB's work on priority infectious diseases as well as vaccine-preventable diseases. Support project preparation and technical assistance activities in DMCs; including (but not limited to) drafting terms of reference (TOR) for consultancies. Assist in the organization of consultative workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagements; and synthesizing evidence and generating knowledge products on infectious diseases and immunization. Contribute to the planning and execution of advocacy events and regional knowledge-sharing activities. 3. Period of Assignment Duration: 11 weeks Timing: June 2026 onwards 4. Location ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines 5. Expected Outcomes Improved operational coordination for ExCITD project and TA activities through timely administrative, logistical, and organizational support. Synthesized evidence and knowledge products on priority infectious diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases to inform ADB strategy and operations High-quality TORs, project briefs, and preparatory documents produced to support project preparation and TA design and implementation in DMCs Well-organized consultative workshops, webinars and meetings, contributing to smooth implementation and stronger stakeholder engagement in DMCs Enhanced advocacy and visibility of ExCITD Initiative through support to events, communications, and knowledge-sharing activities 6. Education Requirements Currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in Public Health, Health Economics or Financing, Epidemiology or related field with strong analytical training and familiarity with the health sector 7. Relevant Experience and Other Requirements Preferably with 2-3 years of professional experience in public health experience with a public health NGO, think tank, or an international institution (UN, bilateral or multilateral organization). Candidates with healthcare management consulting work background will also be considered. Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data or policy content. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for drafting policy briefs, reports, and stakeholder correspondence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with data visualization is a plus
