Description

Your Main Responsibilities Assist in the architecture, development, and testing of a Python-based system simulation tool for spacecraft propulsion. Develop and integrate mathematical models for spacecraft manoeuvres, delta-v budgets and pre-sizing of propulsion system components. Support the implementation of Graphical User Interface (GUI) features to enhance the usability of internal engineering software. Structure, maintain, and validate comprehensive databases of propulsion hardware components (using JSON/structured data formats) Conduct software verification runs, debug physics models, and analyse simulation data to ensure mathematical accuracy. Collaborate using standard software engineering workflows, including Git version control and modular, object-oriented programming practices. Your Qualification Currently pursuing a Master degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Demonstrated proficiency in Python programming, specifically with experience in building functional software tools, data structures, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). Fundamental understanding and interest in space propulsion systems and orbital mechanics Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex engineering math. Ideally: Familiarity with Python UI frameworks (e.g., PyQt) Ideally: Experience working with thermodynamic calculation libraries (e.g., CoolProp) or physics engines.
