Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this position will manage specific procurement areas related to high spending and that is critical to the ship’s operation. They will also work on key projects related to innovation to increase efficiency and return on value.
Given the learning period required, only candidates who are able to commit at least 4.5 months internship would be suitable. This opportunity is for students who are able to join us in September or October 2025.
Spend Data analysis
Perform deep dive spend data analysis of our top spend categories & top suppliers.
Collect, analyse and interpret spend data to identify trends, patterns and cost saving opportunities.
Provide data findings to enable procurement team to prioritise areas to focus on cost reduction.
Perform data analysis to solve business problems and improve processes.
Creating reports, dashboards and visualization to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Documentation control & management
Contract management & record.
Savings log monitoring & tracking.
Management of all shared files in the system.
Supplier Registration – Follow up on documentation.
Document control of all survey & evaluation forms related to all stakeholders.
Develop a presentation template for category team to synthesize market data and trends for management communication.
Cost comparison studies
Assist in the management of tender preparation & submissions.
Conduct comparison studies of all tender proposals and cost bids.
Follow up on all tenders follow up work with all stakeholders.
Performs cost simulations on various scenarios to optimize outcomes of tenders.
Propose findings on cost savings opportunities from tender submissions.
Market intel & benchmarking
Document various sources of market information.
Conduct market studies on key commodities that impact our top spend categories.
Develop a feasible schedule to review market information from above sources to be up to date on market trends.
Proactive sourcing of new suppliers in major ports – To expand supplier database.
