We are looking for a 4-month (January to April) or 8-month (January to August) Mining Engineer internship based in Labrador City, Labrador at our Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) operations. Relocation to Labrador City is required for this role. Accommodation and relocation assistance to Labrador City and return upon end of internship will be provided.
This internship will allow you to have direct exposure to engineering work on an active mine site. The intern will be responsible for supporting different activities relating to IOC’s mine process. The role will mostly focus on office-related duties but will also include some field exposure.

Working in a challenging and exciting environment, within the Mine Planning Department, you will be:

  • Assisting mine planners for different planning horizons
  • Performing mine reconciliation (spatial, equipment, haulage network)
  • Providing mine design support
  • Contributing to continuous improvements initiatives
  • Participating in HSE related programs, including safety talks and field observations
