Position Summary The General Crew Member will require skill and experience levels greater than a general laborer, but less than a lead carpenter or foreman. Will use drawings and templates, hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment to complete daily tasks. Functions, Duties and Responsibilities Knowledge of construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety. Proficiency in the following tasks: stain-grade trim work, hang doors, drill and set door hardware, set windows, layout for stairs and common rafters and utilize appropriate math skills. Ability to read blueprints. Effective communication with on-site foremen regarding carpentry progress and safety; update the foreman of any foreseeable issues. Adhere to and enforce all safety standards per the Safety & Health Manual Maintain organized and clean job site throughout the project. Participate in and promote the safety culture. Maintain all necessary job-related certifications. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work in a team environment. Effective verbal communication skills Organize and manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to work with hands on tools and to work in production and construction related situations, following instructions given both orally or in writing Ability to work independently, with accuracy, and in accordance with company safety and quality standards. Ability to communicate in English with other employees for the purpose of hazard recognition, problem-solving, or other purposes. Ability to work up to 12 hours a day when necessary and as determined by management. Experience in construction and carpentry trade preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
The General Crew Member will assist in construction tasks using various tools and equipment while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. They will communicate effectively with foremen about progress and any issues that arise on-site.
