QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  1. Degree/NVQ 4 or equivalent Professional membership/experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Experience of working on development & implementation of Oracle EBS functionality or SAP Concur or Science Warehouse
  2. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of accounting
  3. Proven experience of translating business requirements into functional requirements and deliverables
  4. Proven experience in developing new processes and & implementation of system projects
Responsibilities

Key Duties

  • Provide professional advice and guidance on Finance processes and procedures to internal and external customers that will have institution wide impacts, advising on the impact on finance systems of strategic developments and plans
  • Take responsibility for resolving issues independently within Finance where they fall within set role objectives, using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action and ensuring complex and conceptual issues and solutions are understood by the audience
  • Plan and deliver specific small-scale projects, co-ordinating and supervising project teams created as needed
  • Investigate and analyse specific issues within finance systems, creating recommendation reports, supported by advances within Finance technology
  • Ensure that the provision of Finance systems is delivered to the institution, proactively changing the delivery according to customer requirements, contributing to the development of institution wide standards within Finance & IT
  • Establish relationships with key contacts to ensure role objectives are meet, developing appropriate communication links with the University’s Schools/Departments and outside bodies as required
  • Create specific working groups from colleagues across the University to achieve Finance objectives
  • Work with SMEs / Business Leads to develop training materials relating to Finance Systems and provide support for training where required
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department
  • Instruct and guide other employees across the University regarding Finance systems
