The Health and Safety Manager (Fire Safety) provides advice, guidance and support across the University on all matters relating to Fire Safety. Ensuring all University fire safety policies and procedures are in line with UK regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

1. Degree/NVQ 6 or equivalent Professional membership/experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Substantial experience of working within Fire Safety
2. Able to demonstrate professional knowledge within Fire Safety to give advice and guidance to internal and external customers
3. Proven experience in developing new processes and procedures

GENERAL DUTIES

• All members of the Safety and Staff Wellbeing team are required to use their expertise wherever and whenever required, which includes activities beyond the responsibility and activities within this job description.
• Ensure that an understanding of confidentiality is applied when undertaking all duties.
• Undertake administrative duties to support the department
• Abide by University policies on Health, Safety, Equality and Diversity.
• Perform other duties occasionally which are not included above, but which will be consistent with the role.
• Contribute to the development of the University SHEW management systems.
• Any other duties as may be required by the Head/Deputy of Safety and Staff Wellbeing, which are commensurate with the grading of the post.
