Description

ABOUT YOU

We are dedicated to unlocking your full potential, and we are eager to welcome a diverse range of skills and talents. Here, we see internal auditing as more than just ticking a box. It’s about fostering creative collaboration within diverse teams, harnessing each other’s strengths to provide independent assurance that Motability Operations internal controls and processes are operating effectively to ultimately enhance our customers’ lives.
We’re not looking for the “finished product”. While an interest in fields like finance, accounting, or business management would be beneficial, we’re primarily interested in team players with a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail.
If you’re enthusiastic about learning, growing, and contributing your unique perspective to our Internal Audit team, we encourage you to apply.

ABOUT US

We’re the company behind the Motability Scheme. We exist to deliver smart, sustainable solutions that improve our customers’ mobility in a fast-changing world. We’re the UK’s largest car leasing company and we help over 800,000 people get on the road.
We employ over 1800 people, across London, Bristol, Edinburgh, and Coalville. We know our people are key to our success, so we aim to create an environment that allows our employees to flourish. We look for highly motivated people with a combination of commercial sense and real enthusiasm to meet our customers’ needs.

WHAT WE DO

We lease a wide range of tailored mobility solutions to people who receive of one of the Government’s qualifying mobility allowances. Our customers choose a car, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), scooter or powered wheelchair that best suits their needs. We take care of their insurance, breakdown, servicing and more, as part of our worry-free package.
At the end of the lease, our customers can exchange their vehicle for a brand-new model. Each year we sell and move around 200,000 cars. This makes us the largest supplier of single-source vehicles back into the used car market.
The Scheme has been providing affordable, worry-free motoring for over 45 years. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding customer service, with an independent customer satisfaction rating of 9.6 out of 10.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Are you someone who wants to get to the heart of an organisation and learn all about the components that make a successful business? Motability Operations has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Internal Audit team on a two-year apprenticeship programme, with the potential for a permanent role upon completion.
For the duration of the 24-month programme we will support you in combining work and education - you will have an opportunity to gain data analytics experience which helps auditors identify risks, assess controls, and make more informed decisions. As an apprentice you’ll play an important part in supporting the continuous improvement of audit quality, working with new technologies like PowerBI and AI to analyse data and produce great work.
We’ll give you the training and resources you need to thrive with us and reach your full potential and dedicated study leave to help you achieve your qualifications. You’ll work on challenging projects alongside a supportive team allowing you to grow professionally and handle each new audit engagement with confidence.
This opportunity will provide you with an alternative route into a highly successful organisation away from the classic university pathway. You’ll have a chance to learn from experts in their field, develop and grow, while working in a collaborative and innovative environment. You will complete a comprehensive training programme with a chosen provider and, of course, your colleagues will be there to guide you every step of the way. Plus, you’ll have regular one-on-one chats with a dedicated mentor who’ll be there to offer you even more advice and support.
On the programme you’ll spend four days a week as an Internal Auditor, and one day a week dedicated to completing an online education programme to achieve an Internal Audit Practitioner Level 4 Qualification. If you’re interested in obtaining a Level 7 Qualification, equivalent to a Master’s degree, we’re able to offer this upon completion of the initial apprenticeship.
When you’re working in our teams, you won’t be on the side-lines – you’ll be right in the thick of it, applying and broadening your skills, being an active member of our audit engagement team.
