Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As an Internal Auditor (Technology), you’ll join a skilled team and provide clear, honest insights to help make sure vital systems and services across the UK intelligence community are working as they should.
This isn’t your typical audit role. You’ll be working across MI5, MI6 and GCHQ, providing assurance and advice on the compliance, resilience, and efficiency of operational and mission-critical technology. These systems are cutting edge – often designed to stay ahead of evolving threats – so you’ll grow your expertise in areas like AI, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and specialist operational platforms.
Day to day, you’ll work on a variety of projects, either as part of a small team or independently. Together, you’ll provide customers with high-quality assurance, advisory, and investigatory services along with strengthening and enhancing our internal risk management and governance.
This role can be based in London, Cheltenham or Manchester. If you’re interested, there will also be opportunities to travel within the UK and overseas.

MI5, MI6 and GCHQ are proud to have achieved Leader status within the DWP’s Disability Confident scheme. This is aimed at encouraging employers to think differently about disability and take action to improve how they recruit, retain, and develop disabled people. As a Disability Confident Leader, we aim to ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants who best meet the essential minimum criteria for this position will be offered an interview, if it is practical for us to do so (this is known as Offer of Interview). To secure an interview for this role, the minimum criteria (in order of application process) are:

  • Eligibility questions– you will be asked a series of questions relating to the role and working for this organisation. If you meet the criteria here, you will be directed to the initial application form.
  • If you pass our initial application form sift, you will then be invited to an interview
