In accordance with Senate Bylaw 8, the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of Associate Dean, Teacher Education. The position is a 5-year term with the possibility of renewal, commencing May 1, 2025 or as negotiated.
Applicants must hold a tenured appointment in the Faculty of Education by the time of appointment. We seek a candidate with enduring commitments to excellence and innovation in teaching, service, and research, scholarship and creative activity. Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean, Teacher Education is responsible for the overall administration of teacher education programs, including the Consecutive B.Ed. Program, the Concurrent B.Ed. Programs, and the B.Ed./Diploma in Technological Studies Program. Furthermore, they will be committed to principles and practices of equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion, to anti-racism, anti-oppressive or social justice education, and to fulfillment of the educational Calls to Action as set out by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Education, the Associate Dean, Teacher Education, will work collegially with the Faculty of Education leadership team and will have responsibilities that include:
As per the University of Windsor Policy on Remuneration for Associate Deans (2023), the Associate Dean, Teacher Education, will receive an annual stipend in the amount of $20,000, an annual research allowance of $5,000, and will be entitled to administrative leave credit earned in return for time as Associate Dean (at the rate of 1.6 months per year). Additionally, and consistent with other faculties at the University of Windsor, the Associate Dean, Teacher Education, will have reduced teaching responsibilities. The Associate Dean will be responsible for teaching one full course equivalent, in the teacher education program, per academic year.
