Please visit our website for more information – https://www.mufgemea.com/mbe Function positioning As the Internal Control Specialist you will be mainting and developing SOX/Internal Control Framework maintaining and developing the SOX / Internal Control framework across MBE as well as an ‘in-control’ mindset and mature process and control documentation within Finance. The function forms part of MBE Finance Division (residing under the CFO) and is reporting directly into the Head of SOX and Internal Control. MBE has multiple branches in EU countries and is part of the wider MUFG Group. This leads to significant interaction with colleagues located in different parts of the world. Within this function there will be communication with Operational Risk Management, IT, Internal Audit and owners of (SOX) controls. The role includes the following: Maintaining and developing the SOX / Internal control framework for Group / Local purposes (i.e. JGAAP/USGAAP scope) including related testing and reporting; Developing and progressing the maturity of the finance control framework and coordination with responsible business owners the periodic Risk and control self -assessments and business process update; Coordination with the internal and external auditor in capacity of the Mid- and Year-End audits, Sox Audits and related activities, Involvement in the set-up of enhanced controls for Finance in strategic projects (such as system implementations, internal restructuring, process harmonization between branches etc.). In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following: Preferably a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience preferably in the financial services industry or a audit firm which conducts external/internal audits . Minimum of BA degree required with a complement education on the field of control or Audit and or IT auditing. (RA/ACCA/CISA/CIA etc.) Affinity and experience with developments on risk and controls in the Finance domain. Technical skills / experience with IT risk and controls or willingness to learn more in the IT domain. Knowledge of banking, its products and processes is considered a plus. Understanding of internal control frameworks (COSO etc.) Experience with SOX and/or audits and their requirements (IT/Business controls) Proficient in written and spoken English. Other languages like Dutch, German or Japanese would be considered a plus. Analytical / problem solving skills. Work well in an environment which is challenging and requires meeting deadlines and performing stakeholder management for different parts of MBE and the wider MUFG organization. Experience with applications for flowcharting would be a plus.
