YOUR PROFILE

At DNB you will be working together with dedicated professionals. You need to be decisive and have strong analytical skills. Our supervisors have an unparalleled opportunity to exert influence. You therefore should have highly effective powers of persuasion, be good at maintaining professional relationships and have a clear communication style. You always remain respectful and critical, keep asking questions and can hold your ground in difficult discussions. Above all, you are a team player: you are at ease with sharing your knowledge and findings with your colleagues at DNB and ECB, to ensure your team can perform even better.
Even more important: you enjoy coming to our beautiful new office to meet your colleagues and take part actively in social and semi-social activities. We come to the office at least 50% of our working hours, this is a requirement for all employees.

What else are we looking for?

  • You hold a master’s degree, preferably in a quantitative field such as econometrics or mathematics.
  • You have between 5 and 8 years experience in the financial sector or at a consultancy firm in the field of model risk.
  • You have an excellent command of English and willingness to learn Dutch.

Responsibilities

You will work within the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) where, together with your colleagues from the European Central Bank (ECB), you will supervise a Dutch systemically important bank. As such, you will be part of the European Joint Supervisory Team (JST) for that bank. Within the JST, you will be one of the experts in model risk, with a focus on credit risk management. You also know how to apply your quantitative skills to supervision in a broader sense and have a keen interest in data management and data quality matters.

What exactly does the position entail?

  • You will assess and evaluate credit and model risks and determine the impact on the risk profile of the bank. To this end, you should be able to gain a deep and comprehensive understanding of how the institution organises itself, and of its business model and business strategy.
  • Where relevant, you will participate in internal model investigations.
  • You will have discussions with the bank’s management and other staff members. You are capable of probing further to identify and understand the underlying challenges.
  • You will participate in designing strategies and actions to reduce risks and to remediate identified weaknesses in the institution’s internal credit- and model risk management.
  • You will keep up to date with regulatory developments and verify the bank’s compliance with regulation and supervisory expectations.
