Request the appropriate documentation to make a qualified decision of approval or denial.  Review and analyze information to determine if it meets investor guidelines. * Achieve monthly mortgage origination and closing goals. * Attend branch team meetings to coach branch staff on mortgage products and tips to identify mortgage referral opportunities. * Provide timely updates to branch staff regarding the status of mortgage referrals. * Maintain a high level of service, consistency and professionalism by delivering Canvas Core Values to both internal and external members at every touch. * Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations, industry and Canvas standards, including but not limited to HMDA, TRID and BSA. Compliance with all aspects of these regulations is expected including delivery timelines and proper completion of all fields within the loan origination system. * Ensure that Encompass is the official system of record and member data is accurate and all documents received are uploaded to the Encompass eFolder, including all supporting documents and Blend compliance reports. * Manage all interest rate discussions with members, locking the rate in Encompass and providing corresponding disclosures to members. * Compile and submit complete and accurate loan applications to processing. * Responsible for timely Re-disclosure of Loan Estimate based on TRID regulations and document necessary fields in Encompass. * Return all phone calls and emails the same day. * Must provide timely and regular status updates to related third parties such as listing and buying real estate agents. * Resolve member issues in a timely, consistent and professional manner. * Attend all purchase closings or make arrangements for a Canvas mortgage representative to attend. * Follow-up with members after closing to identify additional needs or to answer questions. * Actively promote and contribute to the achievement of branch and organizational goals. * Identify cross-sell opportunities and educate members on credit union products and services. * Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications. * Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job. * Perform other job duties as assigned. * This role at Canvas requires National Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008. This means we conduct background checks to ensure NMLS registration and Canvas requirements are met (Not meeting or staying current may result in removal from role). * Pre-employment background review (components include criminal, employment, address, social security number, motor vehicle record, global sanctions, and sex offender). Job Qualifications Knowledge, Skill and Ability: * Proficient knowledge of mortgage products, guidelines and pricing; stays abreast of loans, terms and credit options available. * Proficient knowledge of Secondary Market as well as federal and state guidelines including but not limited to RESPA, TRID, HMDA and MDIA guidelines * Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to customer and business partners. * Must obtain and maintain active NMLS registration under the S.A.F.E Act. * Strong relationship building and teamwork skills. * Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities * Demonstrated track record of success in sales and customer service. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Solid knowledge and understanding of Canvas financial products and services. * Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets. * Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements. * Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Encompass and Blend. * Must possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license and provide proof of insurance. * Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus. Education or Formal Training:  High school diploma or GED.  Two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school is preferable.
