Position is compensated with listed base salary as flat rate and is eligible for commission based on performance. Position Summary As an internal mortgage loan originator, you will acquire and deepen relationships with customers through comprehensive needs-based communication of mortgage products available to members. You will be required to deliver results in mortgage and home lending products, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including exceptional customer service throughout the sales process. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, and have the ability to meet sales goals while meeting required member service levels. Maintain quality service standards set by the organization. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills) * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in sales and/or real estate. * Two years working experience in mortgage lending. * Effective organization skills, thorough follow up and detail oriented. * Demonstrated sales ability, proven sales techniques and thorough knowledge of and a willingness to actively promote Credit Union products and services.   * Ability to manage a large pipeline of real estate loans, all in various stages of the loan process. * Ability to market, promote and build relationships. * Working knowledge of real estate market in local area. * Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use database marketing. * Demonstrated client service skills. * Working knowledge of real estate appraisals, title reports, and global comprehension of real estate transactions. * Must be eligible for, obtain, and maintain a NMLS License. * Must complete all required SAFE Act, Loan Originator, or other required training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Generate loans through internet based mortgage leads for purchase, refinance, second mortgage and HELOC’s requests. * Responsible for out bound phone calls to perspective borrowers to generate new loan production. * Will be responsible to convert internet provided leads to fully executed loan applications and meet goals as determined by the EVP of Real Estate Lending. * Develop and maintain quality working relationships with credit union members throughout the loan process. * Responsible to provide consistent communication to members of their loan status and coordinate the gathering of documents as required to complete the loan process. * Ensure loans are saleable in the secondary market in accordance with agency regulatory guidelines, as well as meeting all internal product guidelines. * Keep informed of changing guidelines and regulations. * Must obtain and maintain understanding of Credit Union products, policies and procedures, and underwriting requirements. * Analyze detailed financial and credit data, matching client needs with the appropriate loan program and level of risk. * Participate in AML/BSA compliance training as assigned.  Adhere to Credit Union AML/BSA policy and procedures including identifying and referring suspicious activity to the Operations Department, performing OFAC comparisons, and properly identifying individuals in accordance with Branch Operations procedures. Other Duties and Responsibilities * Perform other duties as assigned.  * Availability to assist clients during evenings and weekends.
