Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES

  • Assist in the management of university accommodation.
  • Deal with a range of enquires from internal and external customers in a professional manner, establishing their requirements and adapting the standard responses accordingly.
  • To contribute to the success of the team, leading others through example, and supporting the supervision and management of the team.
  • To ensure the achievement of high standards of residences service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with welfare matters, signposting to other sources of support and assistance where required.
  • Ensure efficient and effective communication with residents.
  • To assist in managing planned and reactive site maintenance.
  • Investigate damage charges and invoice accordingly in line with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Raise orders in line with budget.
  • To assist the Residences Manager in maintaining discipline on site.
  • To undertake a variety of routine administrative duties to support the team and department.
  • To establish positive working relationships with key contacts to help improve service levels.
  • To collaborate with others in order to make recommendations for developments of established processes and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with university policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate processing of daily income in line with university finance systems, whilst adhering all financial regulations.
  • Actively participate in an out of hour’s on–call rota to cover out of hours emergencies, give advice etc.
  • To abide by university policies on Health and Safety. As a member of staff with supervisory responsibilities you will also be responsible for ensuring that University policy and procedures and legal duties are applied within your areas and that appropriate risk assessments are undertaken, necessary actions are implemented and staff within your area are fully conversant and trained in respect of their Health and Safety obligations.
  • To ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in respect of equality and diversity, data protection, copyright and licensing, security, financial and other University policies, procedures and codes as appropriate.
  • To perform such duties that are consistent with this grade and lower grades and which may be increased, modified or deleted.
    The role requires a flexible approach to working hours and is based on working 5 days out of 7 each week, as required, to support the achievement of the department’s goals.
