Internal Posting Date: 01/28/2026 Internal Closing Date: 02/3/2026 Target Start Date: 2/9/2026 If you are an internal applicant, please submit your application through this job posting by 12:00PM on 02/3/2026 Location: Eastdale Centre, 99 Lincoln Rd, Stoney Creek, ON L8E 1Z4 Total Hours per Week: 27.75 Schedule: 7:00am-9:30am and 3:15pm to 6:00pm Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): Non RECE: $26.35 per hour RECE: $28.90 per hour About the Role As a Before and After School Educator, your primary responsibility is to be present for children and their families while developing and implementing programs that meet their developmental needs and interests. You will create meaningful play experiences, provide healthy snacks, supervise outdoor and indoor activities, and ensure the safety and well-being of children in your care. Duties vary by centre, but your role always includes supporting children, assisting colleagues, and contributing to a welcoming and well-organized environment. Key Responsibilities: Greet children and families with warmth and professionalism Support children as they transition from home to program, including self-regulation and social engagement Engage children in meaningful activities using a programming cart of materials Provide morning snacks, ensuring children wash hands and eat safely Help children tidy up and prepare for their school day, including outdoor play as appropriate Set up and facilitate activities aligned with How Does Learning Happen? Supervise snack and ensure all children eat safely Provide indoor and outdoor play opportunities and support children’s interests Monitor children’s behaviour, offering guidance and support as needed Qualifications Early Childhood Education Diploma (ECE) and member in good standing with the College of ECEs OR educational requirements to obtain Director’s Approval for working alone with children Related experience in a childcare setting Demonstrated knowledge and working ability to effectively interact with children requiring behavioural guidance Demonstrated knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? Experience in program planning and implementation for school-aged children Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Flexibility to adapt to a variety of responsibilities and schedules Passion for supporting children, families, and colleagues in a positive, team-focused environment Certifications: Standard First Aid with CPR Level C Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR) Why Join Umbrella Family?
