ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The person in this role will test and validate financial processes during a systems integration or ERP implementation—ensuring that accounting functions work properly within the new or updated system. They act as a bridge between accounting and IT, using their finance knowledge to confirm the system behaves as expected.

  1. Financial Process Testing
  • Validate accounting transactions: Test how journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closings are handled in the system.
  • Run test cases: Follow defined test scenarios to simulate real accounting processes (e.g., posting an invoice or processing payroll).
  • Identify discrepancies: Catch and report when outputs don’t match expected financial results (e.g., wrong GL posting).
  1. ERP System Involvement
  • Work with Business Central: Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to test modules like General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, etc.
  • Understand system workflows: Know how transactions flow through the system—e.g., from a sales invoice to revenue recognition and GL impact.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT): Help accounting and finance users verify that the system supports their day-to-day needs before go-live.
  1. Issue Reporting and Collaboration
  • Document bugs or issues: Clearly log problems found during testing in tools

About You

  • A junior to mid-level accountant or financial analyst with hands-on ERP exposure
  • Proven accounting background, ensuring they understand core financial processes.
  • Experience or aptitude for testing financial systems or integrations.
  • It would be best to have experience with either GP or Business Central but if that makes it difficult, we can open it up to other platforms like Dynamics, SAP, Oracle
