TEANECK PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS SEEKING A QUALIFIED INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB) TEACHER.

Teaneck Public Schools invites applications for an IB Teacher dedicated to fostering inquiry-based, rigorous, and holistic education as part of our IB Programme.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The IB Teacher will guide and support students through the IB curriculum, serving as an academic advisor and facilitator of inquiry-based learning. This role includes planning and delivering instruction aligned with IB standards, overseeing student progress, and collaborating with school staff to support the IB Diploma Programme goals.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the content field and describe ways in which the content can be organized into lessons for elementary students
  • Ability to maintain a positive learning environment and develop students’ knowledge and skills
  • Proven ability to work harmoniously with diverse populations
  • Become an expert with established curricula
  • Meet, take attendance and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
  • Develop and implement daily or weekly lesson plans and instructional materials in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the students
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroo

  • Advise students on IB Diploma requirements, including Extended Essays and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) components.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using IB assessment standards and internal assessments.
  • Collaborate with IB faculty, school administration, parents, and community to promote and support the IB program.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and IB training to stay current with IB practices.
  • Support students through individualized instruction and facilitate group learning experiences.
