Description

SmartCanula LLC is a fast-growing Swiss medical device company headquartered in Lausanne, with operations in Frankfurt. We develop the smartcanula canula system for cardiac surgery, CE-marked and in active clinical use across 40+ countries. Our customers are hospitals and surgical teams worldwide. Our go-to-market model is built on a global distributor network of 40+ active partners across EMEA, AP, and beyond. We move fast, decide quickly, and take ownership seriously. We do not walk beaten paths. We build our own. If that is how you work, you will fit right in our small team.

The roleYou own the global distributor network. Not on paper. In practice. Every day.You manage and grow 40+ existing distributor partnerships across EMEA and AP, open new markets, and drive revenue development across your full territory. You set performance targets with each partner and make sure they are met. You travel to where the business is, build relationships that last, and translate product knowledge into commercial results.

  • Specifically, you will:Manage all existing distributor relationships across EMEA, AP, and beyond
  • Drive revenue growth with existing partners through clear KPIs and regular performance reviews
  • Drive market entry into new strategic geographies
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distribution partners in priority markets
  • Negotiate and finalize distribution agreements in close collaboration with leadership
  • Coordinate distributor sales team training together with our Clinical Support team, who leads technical and product training execution
  • Build relationships with KOLs and key hospital accounts alongside our Clinical Support team
  • Identify future business opportunities in additional clinical areas beyond cardiac surgery, in collaboration with R&D
  • Report directly to the COO

What success looks like in year one: Existing distributor revenue is growing at double-digit annual rates. Five new partners are active in target markets. You have a clear pipeline for further expansion.

What we're looking forExperience: 3+ years of commercial experience in Medtech, ideally including hands-on international distributor management. We are open to candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience who can demonstrate strong commercial ownership and proven international exposure.Drive: You are results-oriented and self-organized. You set your own agenda, track your own pipeline, and close your own gaps. No one needs to remind you what to do next.People: You connect with people at every level, from distributor reps to hospital executives. You navigate different cultures with ease, build trust across all hierarchies, and know that relationships are how things get done in this industry.

Commercial instinct: You spot market opportunities, build a go-to-market plan, and execute with passion. You are comfortable in dynamic environments where not everything is defined yet.

  • On top of that:Fluent in German and English (both required; you will also manage DACH distributors directly)
  • Willingness to travel 50%+ internationally
  • Based in the Frankfurt area
  • Clinical or hospital background is a plus, not a requirement
  • Experience in regulated Medtech environments (MDR, ISO 13485) is an advantage

  • What we offerCompetitive base salary plus performance bonus up to 50%
  • VSOP participation
  • Hybrid working model
  • Full travel expense coverage

Make it yoursIf this is exactly what you want to do: reach out directly. No long process. Tell us who you are, what you have built, and why this role is yours.

  • You will not inherit a finished system. You will build it. New markets, new partners, real ownership from day one.
