Project Context and Scope Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is committed to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. This is achieved through the provision of services and advice to governments and migrants. The consultancy will be carried out within the framework of the IOM project “Improving migration governance and access to services for displaced Afghans in Pakistan and Central Asia”, funded by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship department of Canada (IRCC) under the International Migration Capacity Building Program (IMCBP). Within this project, IOM is supporting the Government of Kazakhstan in strengthening gender-responsive border management practices. IOM will assist the government in developing gender-responsive SOPs on assisting vulnerable migrants at BCPs. Within this framework, IOM will also develop and conduct a Training of Trainers (ToT) for on gender mainstreaming in Border Governance. Responsibilities
The consultant will develop gender-responsive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assisting vulnerable migrants at Border Crossing Points (BCPs) and design and deliver a Training of Trainers (ToT) program on gender mainstreaming in Border Governance.
