We invite applications for an international Medical Graduate (IMG) Fellow post to support, guide and champion the needs of International Medical Graduate doctors at UHD.
The post will be based across UHD (Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals) with 80% of the time allocated to IMG education, training and support initiatives and 20% (1 day per week) to an area of clinical interest to ensure the post holder’s clinical skills are supported and maintained. This post does not require out of hours work.
The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery and development of a wide variety of Education and Training initiatives to support our International Medical Graduates at UHD.
UHD has over 200 locally employed doctors (LEDs) of which around 75% are International Medical Graduate doctors (IMGs). In addition a significant proportion of our doctors in regional training programmes are IMGs. This post will focus on developing and delivering processes which enhance the working experience of IMG doctors at UHD and support their career development.
Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued teammates and colleagues.
UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.
This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Recruiting Managers interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions that you have about this at interview.
Please note if the role or service is relocated as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder’s home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
