Description
Lead impact I Shape systems I Strengthen partnerships for change. About World Vision New Zealand World Vision New Zealand (WVNZ) is a Christian humanitarian organisation working alongside children, families, and communities to tackle the root causes of poverty and injustice. As part of the global World Vision Partnership, your leadership will shape New Zealand’s contribution to Pacific and global development, humanitarian response, and climate action — improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of children each year. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and visionary International Partnerships Director to lead WVNZ’s international programmes and advocacy portfolios — scaling impact across humanitarian, development, and climate work. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll drive systemic change that positions WVNZ as a partner of choice in the Pacific and beyond, building strategic funding pipelines, strengthening programme quality and evidence, and deepening our advocacy influence in Aotearoa and internationally. You’ll lead a talented team spanning Pacific Partnerships, Fragile & Developing Contexts, and Advocacy & Justice, ensuring that our global impact is aligned to WVNZ’s bold 2030 goals — to grow child sponsorship to 45,000 children, reach over 750,000 children through humanitarian programming annually and expand our impact in the Pacific and building climate resilience. Key Focus Areas Strategic Leadership: Shape and deliver international strategies that align to WVNZ’s 2030 impact goals — scaling grants, partnerships, advocacy, and field impact. Programme Design & Funding Growth: Strengthen MFAT and multilateral partnerships while expanding private humanitarian and grant funding to support our Pacific and climate portfolios. Advocacy & Systems Change: Lead policy influence and advocacy agendas that drive justice, equity, and sustainable outcomes for children and communities. Partnerships & Collaboration: Build enduring relationships across the WV global network, government, NGOs, and Pacific partners to unlock new impact pathways. People & Culture: Inspire and equip diverse, high-performing teams to deliver results, innovate, and collaborate across boundaries. This is your opportunity to join a professional, passionate and diverse team at World Vision New Zealand, who will stop at nothing to create meaningful change for children. Every day, as part of World Vision’s global reach, you’ll help the world’s most vulnerable families build safer and brighter futures. Every night, you’ll go home knowing you made a difference in someone’s life. About You You are a seasoned leader with deep expertise in international development, humanitarian response, advocacy and programme funding. You thrive in complexity, connect vision to systems, and bring credibility across government, NGO, and global networks. You will bring: 8+ years’ senior leadership experience in international development or humanitarian contexts Proven success in grant acquisition and partnership management (MFAT, multilateral, or philanthropic) Strong understanding of programme design, quality, and evidence-based impact Exceptional relationship management, communication, and influencing skills Demonstrated ability to lead systems change and organisational transformation Experience in advocacy and public campaigns an asset Experience with World Vision and/or global nonprofit organisation partnering with Field Offices and global networks Financial acumen and experience managing complex budgets Strong alignment with World Vision’s Christian values and a heart for purpose-led work Why World Vision?
