Responsibilities

This is an exciting partnership management role to work within our International Engagement Office (IEO), a key part of the Vice-President (Global) portfolio at the University of Surrey. Working closely with the Associate Director of International Engagement and Associate Vice-President (External Engagement), the post holder is responsible for pro-actively managing strategic partnerships with international organisations which pertain to education and research. The successful post holder will play an integral role in our work with international partner organisations with an interesting and diverse range of activities including:

  • Managing relations with our overseas stakeholders (including universities, governments, funding bodies), as well as internal stakeholders across academic departments and professional services and coordinating high-level visits
  • Developing and managing a range of academic collaborations with international partner universities in education and research, including dual degrees and progression arrangements
  • Managing a portfolio of funding streams for international engagement, including mobility grants for research students and research collaboration fund grants for academics
  • Leading the secretariat for the University Global Partnership Network (UGPN), whose current members include North Carolina State University, and the University of Sao Paolo.
  • Maintaining a level of expertise in terms of partnerships opportunities overseas and providing advice on how best to leverage partnerships to achieve IEO’s KPIs and the university’s strategic goals

The post plays a critical role in identifying and pursuing partnerships opportunities for the university related to collaborative education, international student recruitment, international research outputs, and enhancing the University’s reputation.
